Edited Photograph Series
I chose to glitch this resemblance of a nostalgic blur by slowly distorting slivers of the image to frame my face, as in Audacity I played with Vocador and Wahwah, as well as some color distortion with TextEdit, adding more of a classic tv-static-like color bleed, then etching it out in the end completely with different slices of audio. I chose a glitch-like but comforting font with the text “Remember your roots, before they rot away.” The second part of this text becomes more apparent with the pixelation and bolder colors intensifying, alluding to the metaphor of memory fading with time.
